In 2009 Karen began focusing her studies to become a Mindfulness Therapist studying ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy) with Dr Russ Harris ( Author of “The Happiness Trap”), mindfulness has been a big part of her Journey since 1994 studying and practicing mindfulness meditation & Yoga and has discovered that of all the different modalities Mindfulness has been the most effective tool to ease suffering , to move from the darkness of depression and anxiety into the light of living with awareness and joy, also to motivate toward a goal or a particular purpose.

The Yoga that we practice here is Classical yoga.

What to expect:

The class starts by lying down in Savasana (corpse pose), a very deeply restorative relaxing posture, then the joints and muscles are warmed up and we proceed to the physical postures (Asana), both stretching and strengthening, then breathing techniques (pranayama) and finish off with a short meditation.

Also offered are Meditation classes incorporating powerful mindfulness skills. We will explore how the mind works, the effect the mind has on the bodies health and wellbeing.

You will leave with a tool kit full of skills to assist you to quieten the mind when required and also skills to help you use the mind clearly and concisely with the clarity it was originally designed for.

Karen teaches Classical Yoga Monday evenings, Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings.
